Duane Nicol kept detailed scrapbooks of his time on a LST ship during WW II. His daughter Jana, a local activist, artist and state employee has combined those photographs with more than 300 letters to create a compelling story of one man's service.
The Historical Society of Greater Lansing is hosting a book release party for her new book "Your Loving Son, Duane" based on the letters home and his personal reminiscences. The book will be available for purchase.
